In 1999, a group of hit songwriters began designing a record company. Their goal was simple: to turn the world on to the depth and breadth of talent in Nashville`s unique songwriting community and revolutionize the traditional record label / recording artist relationship by turning the deal upside down.

So they created the Nashville Underground Record Collective, a place where the finest performing songwriters could record their original versions of the hit songs they`ve penned for other artists, as well as those more personal songs that belong exclusively to their own artist voices. The artists have complete creative control and retain ownership of their masters.

In addition to having its own label and signing and recording its own artists, Nashville Underground is a source for the distribution of albums recorded by other artists and songwriters as well as a source for cooperative advertising.
