Album Notes

Granting that these two musicians hail from truly formal classical backgrounds, Departure sounds nothing short of an exquisite emotional journey, where one travels from the evocative art of Villa-Lobos into the austere sexuality of John Dowland, while finally being snapped into the fever-pitched passion of traditional flamenco... Gave me goosebumps!

GREAT MUSIC!!! I got goosebumps when I caught an NPR program featuring these 2 great musicians. This CD reminds me a CD that Kathleen Battle/Christopher Parkening did a few years back- they share some selections. This is a wonderful addition to my music collection. Thank you!

remarkably satisfying cd by two extremely talented artists
author: tuny
A remarkably satisfying CD by two extremely talented artists with very good taste. They perform a nice balance of material with authority and skill to provide an outstanding experience. The flamenco tracks are inspired. My only complaint is that I would've like a few more tracks, including another guitar solo, well worth any additional cost. I appreciate their providing the lyrics in the cover notes in the original language.
