At the age of 24, this Oregon-grown tunesmith is newly celebrating his 11-year anniversary of songwriting. Alongside his current work with Portland-based groups “Nathaniel Talbot Trio” and “Lasers all the Time” exists a wealth of stripped-down, solo material. With influences ranging from Kelly Joe Phelps, Doc Watson, Bill Frisell and Elliott Smith, Nathaniel combines furious, finger-style guitar work with thoughtful, melodic vocal lines. The result: A sonic experience that is truly unique and memorable. This budding songwriter is a wonderful addition of the Portland folk scene.
Note from the artist: "Music Box" is a small collection of songs that I recorded while living in a tiny cabin in the heart of Oregon's Opal Creek Wilderness. After giving the disc a spin, I urge you to head down and visit the giant conifers and clear waters that inspired the music. Enjoy!
