Heartfelt voices flow over clear, simple beats. The rhythm really evokes both native styles and hip hop styles in the interwoven sounds. This cobination of a hiphop/native beat feels natural. Sometimes the lyrics are a little redundant with the theme of haters trying to step to native era's style. But there are a lot of songs that deal with interesting issues: love and self-growth. I could definitely imagine people "tryin' to hate" on Native Era, especially people who are steeped in commercial hip hop. Native Era is very brave to take a truly unique style to the public and I really appreciate that. By the way- Game Tight is a song that rocks my world. Their beats are simple and fresh, kind of like M.I.A., but without the tongue-in-cheek riffing on 80s beats, the simplicity of their beats seems to come from the sincerity of their message and is rooted in native music rhythm, which is only complex in its sublteties.
