Album Notes

Natural Bob Holdsworth is a Chicago area performing songwriter who was inspired in his formative years by the music of the Beatles, the Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel and the hootenanny style of the 60s folk revival.

He paid his dues in teenage garage bands and later in top 40 club bands all the while working on his own folk-rock songwriting.

He kept his hand in as a weekend warrior of the Chicago folk scene while raising a family in the 80s-90s and emerged as a seasoned song craftsman ready to share his wierd view of the world at midwest coffeehouses and clubs.

His first full length album (yes, album!) of original songs (JUST BE YOU, released 2001) displays the full range of his musical roots in folk, rock, bluegrass and country like a spin around the radio dial.

The album includes an Americana version of a traditional British tune and a song by Stephen Foster for good measure, both with the distinctive "Natural Bob" touch.

Natural Bob rocks - good music, good lyrics!
author: Kathryn
From the Beatle-esque melody of "Just Be You" to the funky rhythms of "Rucksack Full of Love"; from the truths of "Borrowing from the Future" and "Ain't Your Mama" to the respect for tradition evident in "Old Folks At Home"; Bob has produced a winner! Truth, humor, melody and fine musicianship!
