REVIEWS:
"Your music is WONDERFUL. I'm totally in awe of 'To Soar,' with its powerful lyrics and compelling guitar work. Is that Fogelberg or Kansas influence I'm hearing in there? And on 'A Fairy Tale,' the instrumentation feels magical, light, and airy, like dreamwalking under twinkling stars or sunlit lacy trees - very appropriate. I'll have to count them both as favorites. Also, kudos to Richard - beautiful flute work on 'The 20 Years Journey.'" (Ms. Tex, www.Poppermost.com)
"Acoustic guitar virtuosity and lyrical poetry so seldom heard--simply inspiring." (J.M., Northfield, MN)
"A timeless sound, refreshing and captivating." (N.W., Castroville, CA)
"Piercing stories in song--hot guitar!" (Wiredtogether, www.wiredtogether.com)
ABOUT THIS ALBUM:
The songs on this 80-minute compact disc span nearly a quarter century. Most were written between 1983-1992 in places as diverse as Egypt, India, Taiwan, Japan, Nepal, Hong Kong, Italy, and the U.S.--all locations that spurred lyrical "reflections" both "bright and dim" (from the song, "Amazing") for musician Tim Berndt. Natural Echo's "Greatest Hits?" is some of the most inspired and emotionally-exposed acoustic music you may ever hear. Performances are virtuosic. Lyrics captivate, grab, and sometimes twist...hard. A truly unique gem, 25 years in the unearthing!
FROM THE CD FACE:
"My adventure with these songs has been an extended one, but like Captain Kirk said while dying beneath the twisted metal of that collapsed skywalk on Veridian III, "It's been fun..." As I attempt to put some closure on these tunes with the release of this compilation, my thoughts turn constantly to those of you who gave so much of yourselves to help make these early Natural Echo projects work. Your time, talents, advice, criticism, encouragement, equipment, instruments, sense of humor, and extreme patience, gave these songs a reality in the physical/audible realm. Thanks for sharing these adventures with me. - Tim (July 2007)"
