What do you do when your record label says your music is brilliant but they don't know how to market you? Could you be a little less you?

As a former Polydor, RCA and Columbia Records recording artist, Neal Fox learned a lot about being pigeonholed.

Billboard called him, "A rueful Randy Newman eccentric, equally at home in blues, rock, pop, and jazz motifs." And while that sounds good, it conflicted with the labels' niche mentality. In short, they didn't know what to do with him.

So Fox went his own way and, over the years, produced music for every medium from television to theatre. Now, with the added skills of animator and videographer, he's created a unique one-man multimedia show that is his own niche. And it's appropriately called-Pigeonholes.

On stage Fox's live performances (vocals, piano and guitar) interact with the animation and film onscreen making Pigeonholes an audio-visual treat. He's the blues singer who got too mellow from anti-depressants; the grocery clerk whose microphone makes him a god ("How much are these condoms? The lady wants to know."); and, MC Doctor DJ Biggy BJ-the world's oldest rap artist. But laughter is only one part of the experience. Fox's songs about love, regret, war, and humanity put you on an emotional roller coaster.
