Album Notes

Glenn and Betheny Dunlap met performing in music groups at Ball State University. The group Neapolitan began when a friend asked them to write a song for a local production company's 'calling card' movie. Recording the song with some great local jazz artists brought out the magic. They kept writing and arranging music and began to play in and around Indianapolis.

This debut album features original tracks, including "Walk in a Dream," a light swing tune with a deeper message, and "Cotton Candy Sky" a Vince Guiraldi-inspired love song. The album also mixes straight-ahead jazz tunes with the smooth sound of contemporary jazz. You'll hear old songs like "Body and Soul" done in a new funked-up way, and contemporary songs like "In Your Eyes" done with a smooth jazz-influenced flavor.

They wanted to make an album that would appeal to a wide range of people. It isn't complicated; it just feels good, no matter where or when you play it!

REVIEWS

Would like to hear more instrumental with the singing
author: David Weinschrott
Betheny has a great voice - I like the songs a lot. On some tracks it seems like she attempts to sing the whole track. I would prefer hearing more of those other great artists in solos - along with the singing.

Original songs and several favorites quickly
author: Bill Minnis
The CD is great car driving music. It is very mellow and has the affect on the listener. Very articulate and clear so words and meanings are revealed. I find several of the songs very catchy and stay with me.
