New York City-based Need is the brainchild of Connecticut-native vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Rob Kurfehs. A prolific songwriter, Rob started writing Need's debut album at the precocious age of 15. Along with the help Broadway drummer and composer John Clancy, David Shuman, and Rob Burger (Norah Jones, Tin Hat Trio), Need's debut masterpiece has come to fruition. Jumping from style to style, but always with a coherent style that is uniquely Need, Fade-In showcases Need's diverse musical influences and unique sound. Complex arrangements and rich production beguile the album's indie roots: the project was 100% independently funded from 2003-2006.

Everyone Needs Some Need
author: Fat Ravioli
When I first met the singer/songwriter a few months back, he handed me a CD. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. I was immediately taken in by the unique, fast-yet-melodic, and above all ENCHANTING intro to "Civilized." I passed along the album to friends of mine. Shortly after taking a listen, they said, "I hope he's on his way to snag that Grammy!"
My personal experience with this album leads me to believe that it's perfect for people of all moods, under any circumstances. It's an almost exoctic blend of melancholy, uplifting, insightful and down-to-earth as told by the lyrics and varied instrumentals.

Very good mix of music
author: CP
The songs reflect the musicians talent on the way he wants the music to be heard. Instrumental to piano to singing to being a slow ballad or a fast rock song. It has a unique sound but is very catchy once you hear it. You feel captivated by the songs. When one is playing I find myself relating it to something in my life and get lost in the song. I hope you are ready for a great album that will grab you.
