ABOUT THIS ALBUM


Album Notes
"My Nova Scotia Home" is an album inspired by my life in Nova Scotia, Canada. After buying a sea side cottage south of Halifax, I began to explore the history, culture and music of this region. The history of Nova Scotia is bound up with its proximity to the North Atlantic ocean.

The sailing men arrived from Scotland, Ireland and England and brought with them their varied music styles. These cultural influences inspired me to try and capture various aspects of sea songs, Celtic music and a variety of other genres that I have heard over our years in Nova Scotia. The final track pays tribute to the "Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo", one of the most unique entertainment extravaganzas in the world.

The people of Nova Scotia truly enjoy their music and it is my hope that " My Nova Scotia Home" will resonate with folks throughout the Maritimes and wherever free spirits reside.
