Neomie Marie Toussaint-Williams has been singing all her life. She started composing songs, however, while in high school.
A born again Christian from age 7, Neomie has never considered singing anything else but gospel music. "I believe that this is my calling in life; to sing for the glory of God and praise Him with what He's given me."
Born on the island of Dominica, W.I. and raised on the island of St. Thomas, USVI, Neomie's style is distinctively flavored with Caribbean spice. However, her musical training has been classical. She holds a bachelors degree in music education from Howard University.
Toussaint-Williams has sung in several churches and church sponsored concerts throughout the Caribbean and the United States of America. In St. Thomas, she has sung with world re-known praise and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, and fellow recording artists Judy Turnbull and Keri Fraser. Also in St. Thomas, Toussaint-Williams has opened for Trinidad's Errol Lewis and Jamaica's Stichie. She has also sung in St. Croix and St. John, opening for South Africa's Mighty G Sound and Minister T. D. Jakes. Other places that Neomie has sung are,Tortola, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts, Texas, Virginia, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C.
When asked what her latest release has meant to her, Neomie answered, "Totally Free is what I am today. I silently struggled with my past. I often asked God why? Was He really there? And I wondered if God really cared for Me. I was angry, hurt, and bitter, but I still clung to God, wanting so much to understand. God took me to His word and showed me that His saints are not immunied to pain, trials, testings, and struggles. He rains on the just and on the unjust. I took a long look at the life of Joseph and of Job. God is there to go through whatever it is with us if we only acknowledge Him, lean on Him, and be strengthened by His presence and praise Him in spite of everything. I've learned that how and when we react to the things we face in life often times determine how long we struggle and how soon we overcome. When we do overcome, however, we are stronger."
Toussaint-Williams is a music teacher at the Gladys Abraham Elementary School in St. Thomas, V.I. as well as music director at the St. Thomas Assembly of God Church. She is married to Pedro Williams. They have two children, Kelsha and Jenee.
"Real freedom comes from knowing and serving God. Total freedom comes from surrendering all to Him." It is Neomie's desire that someone will be encouraged to live and be "TOTALLY FREE" because of her music ministry.

The captivating island tones resonate throughout each piece, ministering to the soul in a powerful way. Naomi's beautiful voice sends chills down the listener's spine, especially in Totally Free as she reached notes drawn from the depths of her soul attempting to and succeeding to reach listeners. Each selection was beautifully delivered and worthy of every penny paid for the CD! I can't wait for her next one!
