Album Notes

“Thrashin’ and groovin’ ”. That sums up Nephilim’s sound in a nutshell. This Northern California heavy metal band would say their musical influences include Pantera, Testament, and Exodus, but Nephilim has a style that is clearly their own. Nephilim’s unique sense of rhythm and killer guitar solos, paired with an instantaneous connection to their audience, make them a metal band you won’t want to miss.

In the fall of 2004, Nephilim burst onto the Sacramento music scene, opening for a national act to a sold out crowd of 1000 and releasing a 3 song EP titled “Tormented Visions”. In the Spring/Summer of 2005, Nephilim settled into its four existing members and their signature sound. They released a 6 track EP, "Mortality", in April 2006 and have a growing and dedicated fan-base. The band continually develops new, innovative material and is committed to perfecting their sound and performing killer live shows. They have had the opportunity to open for metal greats like Testament, Overkill and Deicide, have consistent radio play and have won various “battle style” events. When you listen to this band you will be sure to agree that it is uncanny for four musicians still in their teens to have such a huge, kick-ass sound!

Nephilim is Brian Curtin, lead vocals; Brett Rechtfertig, lead guitar; Britt Green, bass; Brian Gifford, drums.

Just wow...

This album is amazing. These guys have an insane amount of talent. The album flows together really well, there are breaks for instrumental songs between the heavy tracks, one of which has guitar work that makes my jaw drop. All in all, it's a great thrash/metal record. It has a lot of power, you can really get into it. It's a shame these guys aren't together any more...but at least we have this amazing CD to remember them by. BUY IT.

Metal up your ass...returns

This cd rocks!! The killer B's: Brian, Brian, Britt and Brett kill everything in their path on Mortality. Returning to the great days of metal with their own flavor, thrashin and groovin is exactly what Nephilim does. Look for great things in the future from Brett Rechtfertig and the rest of Nephilim. The best songs are Smell of Napalm in the Mourning and Ashes of Pompeii.
