Album Notes

"The Road Back" is just that. In 1962 The New Arrivals Band formed in San Jose, California and had a whirlwind career on the West Coast. If you go to our CD presentations (see the titles on bottom left side of this site) on CD Baby you'll get the complete story. Last year (2004) the original band members got together and decided that it was time after 37 years to write and produce a new album. No easy chore. Real life was esconced in their everyday world and the challenges which were to be faced tested the dedication to complete the project. But complete it they did and now it is presented here first. The journey of time started when they played their initial Beach Boy concert and now has re-arrived in 2005 with The New Arrivals band back together and performing. There aren't many stories like this in the world of music.

Please take some time after you purchase the CD and listen to the 12 different songs written by the various members. Though there was no plan, the CD tells a story of time and possibilities one has at any moment in life. How many people say they wish they had done this or that when they could have. You can if you have the determination and talent. Also pick up FINALLY on CD BABY by the band to get the full evolutionary effect.

The New Arrivals' "Finally" was a completion of past work unfinished and unreleased. The next CD, "Let's Get With It, Baby", was again a compilation of unreleased and former singles on an album body of work. But this, the third release, IS the band NOW!!!

Think about that. How many people have done this before and had the opportunity to still have the ensemble together? The New Arrivals have come to life again in the present by resurrecting their past.

The New Arrivals salute all the groups and musicians whom they worked with over the years and those who also had a profound musical influence...John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Sal Valentino, Bob Dylan, Chuck, The Byrds, The Kinks and The Stones....plus Sly Stewart.

What took these guys so long to give us more great rock????

The New Arrivals Band was a a hit group in 1966 when I was a DJ at KXOA in Sacramento and KYA in San Francisco. The band was one of the best rock groups in the Bay Area. Their music was incredible then and now they have managed to capture the same 60's essence of perfomance in this new album !!
