ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The New Breed Band is an eclectic mix of Rock, R&B, Reggae and Funk. Not many bands can pull off this mix in styles.
Because of the multi-talents of the members of the band, and their collective experiences playing the musical styles represented on this project, these guys rock!

The band is primarily a core trio:

Scott Carter - Guitars & Lead & Background Vocals
Mike Bedard - Drums & Background Vocals
Mark Fowler - Bass & Background Vocals

There were other musicians added for other textures in the recording process (sax & some percussion). But, don't be fooled. The trio performs in the studio and in live situations with energy and a "phatt-ness" that amazes their audiences. Their sound is BIG!

Based out of San Diego California, (now relocated to Orange County, CA) the band has performed locally in venues developing their live performance persona as well as building the fan-base between San Diego and Los Angeles. The southern California market has been a great barometer to breakout their original songs. Thus far, the crowds are favoarble. The music represented on this CD is performed at their live shows and the fans are so into the music that many of the tunes are being sung by the audience as well!

The music is well written, the songs are produced well and the lyrics are catchy to listen to. Most of all, the energy of the band is heavy and fun. This project will take you on a musical journey that is surely multi-faceted.

The New Breed Band is just that; a new breed of musical styling and performance not confined to any one genere. Let the New Breed Band take you on a musical trip that is sure to keep you coming back to the CD for more.

*For previews of upcoming songs in production, check out the New Breed Band web site under "Live Performances". These are tunes that will soon be available on CD Baby from the band's next album project.*

Great Versitility !!!
I was surprised to hear the effortless change-up of muscial style! These guys play Rock as well as Reggae and there is always heavy groove in all the music. There is no problem for them to sound authentic no matter what the style is. Versitility like this isn't heard much now-a-days.
I suggest to listeners that like to hear artists branch out to do more than one particular style; pick up a copy of the New Breed Band disc "Class In The World School".

Great music
Music, especially guitar playing was great. Lyrics were good, however, they need to find a new singer. Would have been much better had they used someone who could actually carry a tune. Good CD, like I said before as far as the music goes. Very fresh, lively and original.

The bands gets better each time I listen to them!
I met Scott at Panama Joe's several months ago and heard the band play. I went to see them play recently and the band just keeps getting better! More power to the band! And the CD's great! Hope I can join them on their video shoot in Vegas for a documentary I'm working on.....

You nailed it. You just need some buzz, a gimmick and do some showcase venues.
Melody- nice flowing love @ first sight song. I say Scott Softly meets Lyonell Ritchey, post jazz era.Only problem is, it ends like a limp (use your imagination.) I would add another voice or two on the top.
Where Are We Going?- Great. It ends better.
One Step Closer- Catchy Reggae. Hot. Favorite so far.Strongest vocals.
Hole In The Heart- Oops! Vibratto's slightly changing color. Waving with a touch of insecurity. Just mostly at the end of phrases.Although it goes well with the hole in the heart lyrics. Flows great.
Light House- My favorite rhythm. Is that jazz? Slightly cornball, but it works.Let me be your envelope. Lick me and I'll stick you, no joke.
See Ya.
Signing Off.

Very refreshing to hear something new and innovative.
I had the pleasure of hearing these guys live in San Diego at the Jazz Festival (5/24/03). Although their music isn't coming from a jazz focus, they were a great contrast to most of the music of the day. I purchased a CD at the performance but had to put a review on the CD Baby site so others might be influenced to purchase the CD.
Great performances, strong lyrics, great attitude in the lead vocal chair..... I'm very happy with my purchase. Order your CD now, and if you have the opportunity to see The New Breed Band live, be sure to catch their performance! They rock!!!
