New Eyes is a solo project that has origins years ago. It was birthed in the heart and mind of a boy just after he realized he could play more than an acoustic guitar. He would soon grab drum sticks and start tapping on everything around, all the while scratching down his thoughts in poetry on paper. Before long, he was staying up all night in the kitchen recording songs on a mini-cassette voice recorder that belonged to his dad. The result of all this is "The Interstate". And that boy was me.
This album is something I've dreamed about making ever since I was a kid. I had a dream to make a record where I wrote all the songs, recorded all the instruments, and produced and mixed the audio. I wrote these songs in the midst of the best and the worst times of my life to date. I can't apologize for their honesty. I can only say that the joy of a true, deep love is so real. And the pain of love unrequited is just as real. That's what these songs are about. "The Interstate" has been an incredible musical journey for me and I'd be honored if you'd hop on board and be part of it.
