Hauntingly beautiful... darkly magical... emotionally overwhelming... and... this CD is not for everyone! If you don't like emotional dark spaces... This CD may not be for you. A circle of beauty and sadness... a gift of 15 exquisite black roses. But if you can't recall love stopping your heart... this CD may not be for you. These songs live deep below the surface like our moods. It's my submission... crying is cathartic.

“I've Been Waiting for You” is my first escape into writing and creating music. The very beginning... I wrote it to make sense of the world inside. It is like a personal diary. My thoughts and feelings and confusions, all laid bare. I always feel naked listening to it. But submerging into these ethereal harmonies and melodies released me. Art and music have a way of transmuting pain into beauty.

This project took over 2 years to complete – I kept fine-tuning it, bringing more feeling and emotion to the surface... making the music not so raw and unpolished. The focus was on my falsetto voice and how it can release pain imprisoned deep inside. I worked alone – many times late into night, recording the songs I wanted to hear. Quiet soaring music, yanking my heart strings, and bending the bars limiting my reality. It is a crime to the soul - to hide, especially from yourself.

Now we easily remember our first times... our first kiss... our first love... it usually is never perfect, sometimes a little scary, and yes even painful. But it affects us in a deeply profound way, because it opens the door to a whole new world of experience and surprise that we didn't know existed. So we cherish it for as long as we can.

And so I cherish you... because you are here celebrating this experience of my first CD... the first music I composed and recorded. Thank you for sharing these moments with me... even if this CD is not be for you. But if this CD is for you, I hope my music opens the door to a whole new world of experience and surprise.

The power of his vocal delivery

On the surface, Nhojj's songs appear to engage traditional themes of romance and intimacy with a unique style that employs lyrics of velvet poetry and gently captivating arrangements. The power of his vocal delivery is such that it takes the opening track, "Faithful," beyond a lover's declaration of fidelity and makes it almost into a sworn commitment to the higher purposes in life. The influence could be one of the singer's gospel background or it could be an aspect of the subtlety of his art. Note, for example, the title track. It could as easily represent a celebration of the arrival of a flesh and blood beloved as it could the arrival of a musical vision into the singer's life.

I received the CD's on Monday afternoon and have been playing them ever since. My brother I wish I could find the words to describe the way your music makes me feel. I cant stop dancing. There are some songs off of your CD that touch me to my soul. I wish I was articulate enough to paint a picture of how your music moves me.

Excellent CD; clear production. The lyrics and melody are both great and compatible. There is also much originality articulated in both lyrics and melody. The music, more so, is soulful, transcending, inspirational and distinctly unique, yet an artful eclectic assimilation and blending of cultural "roots" motifs.
