Album Notes

New Voices of the Blue Ridge features fun, folksy, and meaningful original songs written by artists, Sterling Nicholson and Peter Holland, and the students of Blue Ridge and Woolwine Elementary Schools in Patrick County, VA. The songs appeal to young people ages 6-12 and all parents and grandparents. When Nicholson and Holland were hired by the Patrick County Schools to conduct songwriting workshops in the schools they soon found that these young people wanted to write about their homes, their families, the Blue Ridge Mountains, their dreams- everything! This is a CD for kids and parents to enjoy together. Nicholson and Holland don't condescend or patronize with their music. The singing and guitar playing are first rate on this family friendly CD. Teachers and educators can find many songs here to amuse and inspire themselves and their students.A large portion of CD sales will be given to the Patrick County Schools to fund more artistic projects with the students.
