Album Notes

Some Ghosts is the first record by Caleb Nichols / Jameson Swanagon. The pair first collaborated as singer and guitarist of San Luis Obispo indie band The Bloody Heads, and has reunited under their own names to bring you this initimate collection of songs penned by Nichols.

Home recorded over three days during spring 2008,the songs range in style and theme, from the upbeat, narrative tunes "Don't Ask Alaska" and "Declaration Of Depenedence", to the introspective quiet folk of "Drove This Ghost" and "Thread".

"Alaska" was written during a summer Nichols spent working at a cannery in Alaska with Port O'Brien banjoist/singer Cambria Goodwin. "Frontier Stare" was also written that summer. "Yellow Dress" was written during Port O'Brien's first US tour with Rouge Wave. The basic tracks for the song were recorded in a Minneapolis hotel room during a day off.

"Alcan" was written shortly after that summer. Its about Caleb's epic journey home from Alaska, which involved a plane, a boat, a bus, and a '91 Corrola.

The record is available to purchase here in beautiful, handmade packaging by Jameson and his wife Danae. For more amazing albums by them, please visit littleskreta.net.
