Nick Cook ~ The Poet, the Artist
For so long I have loved the music of Nick Cook. To call it music would not be giving it full credit. Nick is a poet, in the truest sense of the word. His music, the words, it’s pure literature.
He paints pictures for all to see, and the pictures are no less flowing than those of the greatest artists throughout time. Landscapes, feelings, moods, times, places, people and things, it is all there
Nick’s voice, combined with the instrumentation is like water flowing down a beautiful woodland stream. My emotions are carried along this wonderfully mystical journey he so graciously invites us to join him on.
I work late at night allot, and to have him sitting here in my room [ in musical spirit ] can turn any of these long working nights into magical experiences. His music opens the veil into other places, beautiful places, places filled with light filtering through the misty morning forest and more.
I can’t do justice in expressing the beauty of this poet’s work, you will have to feel it for yourself. This is what music is supposed to be, something that can show you things in your mind, take you places in your heart and warm your very soul.
My favourite line from any song I have ever heard is a line from his song “ September”. It is the mark of literature, as is the rest of the song and all of his songs for that matter. If you are old enough to understand this line, then you will agree with me that its is indeed literature.
“Autumn light comes through my window, weaving patterns on the wall”
I thank Nick, and have literally thanked him many times, for sharing these songs with me, and you will thank him too when you finish the mystical journey he takes you on

Beautiful guitar and harmony--unusual talent.

Nick Cook is an incredibly talented new artist. It's not easy to find music of this quality these days. Mistaken is a great showcase of the quality of Nick's work. The words are meaningful, the harmonies sorrowful, and the guitar work positively gorgeous. A digital high-five to Nick for this album!

A few minutes ago a good friend found tracks from Mistaken on my computer by chance while looking for something completely else. "This music is absolutely beautiful!" she said. She's right. It is, and I've just ordered the album for her.

wild and windswept..

Very beautiful, reminds me of my younger days somehow.. hypnotic and very chilled, (not my younger days, or were they..) wild and windswept, gentle and melancholy, just like someone I know.

gentle music weaved softly amongst heart-felt evocative words

With my i-pod and Mistaken, i travelled - i listened to Nick Cook who took me on a parallel journey, one in my head, where i could hear the sounds of home - to the mournful landscape of Cornwall, i could close my eyes and be there, looking out to sea, walking on the cliffs, alone. i could experience my past and the feelings that surrounded me. the voice wrapped me with nostalgia and helped me through a difficult time, it brought feelings to the surface with gentle music weaving softly between heart-felt, evocative words.
