Album Notes

Nickel is a band from Los Angeles, California that initially started off as a 3-piece group featuring Tom McDermott, Bob Schmidt and Fabrizio Munos. Mike Mclaughlin later took over on drums for the next stage of the band's life. During recording of the album, "Stupid Thing", Tom Hite layed down some keyboard tracks and joined the band shortly thereafter.

A video of the song, "Stupid Thing" was produced (directed by Grant Wheeler) which helped to promote the band's music - some fruits of which include being featured on an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", MTV and radio play.

This album is definitely worth buying. The music and lyrics are great and original. I first heard stupid thing and 1000 nights on Buffy and have loved them ever since.

Been rewatching S2 of Buffy and really found myself humming along to Nickel's songs. So then I had to track the CD down and buy it. Happy with it thus far, though admittedly haven't had some serious quality time with it yet. Technical wise: I'm not 100% happy with the sound quality, though, hence the 4 stars. Sounds more old-tape like rather than new!CD like.
