Album Notes

Enjoy this music from these antique music machines as they carry you back to an earlier, simpler time of our grandparents and great-grandparents. These machines were made between the early 1900's to 1930 and were recorded in peak condition. They were used in such places as Saloons, Ice Cream Parlors and even Red Light Districts. Originally, the cost to play a selection was only a nickel. These coin operated machines range from a small keyless piano to a large orchestion filled with different instruments. The songs played here range from overtures, rags, waltzes and the blues. Included are favorites like "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" to the spicy "Makin' Whoopee" to the politically incorrect "Naughty Nigger Rag". These songs selected are a sampling of the type of songs that would have been heard in the early days of the last century. Pull up a chair and listen to some of the best antique music ever recorded.
