UNDERGROUND GARAGE MUSIC OF NICKY SHANE
This is a compilation of fifteen years of songwriting by Nicky Shane. The ninteen songs leap from Jazz to Heavy Metal without one "I Love You Baby" half-note. It's an artistic statement of serious intent that Nicky avoids the obvious. With strong messages in songs like "Manipulation and Sunrise on Sunset Boulevard" the songwriter vents a cathartic weave with his constant introspection for self-honesty. Along with the pop Jazz song "Slip Away" it's obvious Nicky likes writing all styles of music. Deriving from Nicky's poetry the premises are unique and inviting to the tired commercial ear. A self described "Iconoclast" it's nice to see an artist who takes chances and continually stands by it.
MUSIC BACKGROUD
A former featured member of the "Skye Ferguson Blues Band and Black Listed Jukebox" and many more, Nicky is also pushing the limitations of his life long passion with the Harmonica. While on the road as a professional stand-up comedian, Nicky has played with musical greats that include Mick Jones(who brought him back up on stage) Foreigner and blues great Tinsley Ellis. In Los Angeles it's Gilbey Clark of Guns n'Roses, members of Kiss and the NY Dolls and with the voice of Roger Rabit, harmonica sensation Charles Fleischer. Nicky has concentrated on developing a rock oriented, head-turning harmonica sound that resembles a high energy lead guitar bouncing off the jazz section.
Expanding on his song writing abilities, Nicky recently recorded his first Jazz instrumental CD "The Age of Rhythm Vol 1" that can be found on CD Baby. This is being followed up by "Heavy Metal Harmonica" which is effects driven like you have never heard. Due in
October 2005.
