Turning.
This is the début CD of a shy girl finally giving voice to what's going on, and it is a true pleasure to hear her story. Songs of friendship, and a grandmother's passing, children, divorce, disappointment and comfort, Turning is a weaving of life with all its complications into a precious and beautiful garment.

Nicola observes a deep and lasting friendship, surrounded and cheered on by ordinary life, "I dice onions, she recreates heaven...” Walking down the street, painting a picture of her inner and outer worlds, "I can feel the growling hunger, inside my flesh and bones, it's written all over the graffiti on the walls and the screech of the bus breaks on the road...” She's willing to crack open her own inner turmoil and air out the cobwebs, with a smirky sense of humor: "gonna have a good day, and smile at the cracks in the street, gonna have a wonderful time and give a good thought to every poor jerk I meet, even me...”

Nicola uses her soaring voice to dive deep into her being, and with the help of a sensitive and brilliant backup band, and Robinson Eikenberry co-producing, a gem of sonic sweet experimentation emerges.
