NICOLETTE HELM is emerging out of the Northwest into a category all her own,"ORIGINAL ROCKIN' BLUES". As far as female, blues guitarists go, how many are there, anyway? Not too many. And not many writing and performing their own stuff either. Taking the "helm" as lead guitarist in her band, she's being compared to BONNIE RAITT and SUSAN TEDESCHI. NICOLETTE proves herself worthy as writer, arranger, lead and rhythm guitarist and producer of her CD "DODGIN' BULLETS".

NICOLETTE HELM just returned from a month of promoting her CD to a more than willing audience across Europe and received an outstanding reception to her music. Her music is getting radio time in Belgium, France, Czech Rebublic, Amsterdam and Poland, to name only a few. She connects with genuine passion in the delivery of her performances both vocally and on the guitar. If you're into some sincerely, passionate, original music, you're going to want this CD.

NICOLETTE has a knack for blending different genres together, a little blues, a little jazz, then smacks her own style all over it. You can hear some of her guitar influences here and there throughout the CD; FREDDIE KING, RONNIE EARL, the humbler - DANNY GATTON and a bit of JOE PASS remain some of her favorite guitar players. Vocally, she swung the other way for favorites and credits ELLA FITZGERALD, DINAH WASHINGTON and ESTHER PHILLIPS responsible for swaying her singing style. Whatever, put it all together with her original songs, and it spells great music. And, after all, isn't that what it's all about?
