Album Notes

NIECIE's, a Motown girl born and raised, release PEACE OF MY MIND, showcases her strong vocal talents, her sexy, saucy, soulful voice that is very suited for each song. From the sensual, "Working Hard To Please," to the up-tempo "Bed Of Lies" she excels, NIECIE's funky rendition of "Feel So Bad," previously recorded by Elvis and Little Milton, is a breath of fresh blues air. Johnny Copeland's gospel oriented, "Dear Mother" and the B.B. King standard "Shut Your Mouth" are well done. The musicians that NIECIE and her multi talented producer have assembled include some of the finest available. Larry McCray (a Gibson guitar award winner), Shane Theriot (Neville Brothers Band), Mike Durham (Dave Mathews Band) and Chris Anderson (Relativity Records) on guitars, provide the blues gender with only the best riffs. The rhythm section is outstanding; Willie Weeks (Dony Hathaway, Roberta Flack), Chris Kent, (Larry Carlton, Kirk Walum) and Manny Yanes (Patti Labelle, Neville Brothers, Robert Palmer), play the bass to perfection, and the always in the pocket drummer Nioshi Jackson (E.C. Scott, Scott Holt, Trisha Yeargood, Larry Carlton, Micheal McDonald), keep the blues beat alive. Johnny Neel, (The Allman Brothers, Government Mule, Blue Floyd), maintains the keyboards, keeping the CD blues worthy. The horn section is a great one with Dennis Taylor, (Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Aerosmith) and Tom McGinley on the sax, with Steve Herman wailing on the trumpet. All in all this is an excellent CD worth the purchase price.
