One of the best kept secrets of the experimental music scene in Denmark is undoubtedly the music of Danish born
Robin Taylor.

Taylor's Free Universe were formed in 2000 by Robin Taylor and Karsten Vogel as a live performing act as well as a studio recording band. TFU have played at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2003 a.o.

TFU's debut CD "File Under Extreme" was voted 5th best Danish jazz release in 2002 (of 136) by the staff at the
Danish magazine "Jazz Special".

TFU's regular line-up comprise Robin Taylor: guitar & electronics etc., Karsten Vogel: saxophones, Pierre Tassone: violin & electronics, Johan Segerberg: basses & electronics and Kalle Mathiesen: drums & sampler.

TFU have performed (and recorded) with special guest Peter Friis Nielsen (b) (On-Plugged in Elsinore).

TFU are influenced by sixties avant-garde jazz shaped in modern sound aestethics, ranging from Ornette Coleman to
Fred Frith and David Torn.
