Album Notes

Described by Musical Stages (issue 62) as 'the best cd of Musical Theatre Songs I have heard in a long while....truly authentic and triumphantly realised...this is an album for the genuine lover of Musical theatre and is a profoundly refreshing and uplifting experience. This recording lives up to its title and is indeed a Shining Truth.'
Edward Seckerson for the Independent and What's on says 'this wonderful collection of songs. Diverse...interesting...not so much a cd as a manifesto. Ive been playing it and playing it and have fallen in love with many of the songs.
Adam Guettel: 'I love it. I love it. Apparently you hadn't heard but it's terrific!
A love letter to great writing, this cd is recorded by Nigel Richards, most known in London for his performance as Floyd Collins in the British premiere. Other premieres include Maltby & Shires 'Baby', Tom Waits' Black Rider, Hello Again, Napoleon, Martin Guerre, Jason Robert Browns' Songs for a New World and Bernstein's Mass. Most recently he has been singing with Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker at the Barbican in Drift & Tilt: The Songs of Scott Walker. He is currently playing The Phantom in Phantom of the Opera at certain performances in London.
