Album Notes
Nightwolf comes from Fresno California . Members Ernesto Cordero, Anthony Valenzuela, Mike Diaz, and Ruben Gaitan, deliver a powerful album, rich with searing guitars, and beautiful melodies.

Ernesto and Anthony trade off on lead vocals to give this album even more depth. Whether you are listening to the sexy "Just For You" (track1), the jazzy "Same Old Feeling" (track 4), the powerful rock song "Fires From The Sky" (track 6), the spanish gypsy tune of "The Flame" (track 11), or the beefed up blues rock finale "Cry" (track 12), it is all undeniably Nightwolf.

Versatility is Nightwolf's trademark. If you like any type of music with blazing guitars, melodic ballads, and songs that say something, then you should check this band out!

Nightwolf's guitars are howling again
Here's a time-tested rock band cliché for you: The reunion.

A meeting between ex- bandmates ending in a "Let's get the band back together" moment.

For Nightwolf, it came in July of last year.

At that point, Nightwolf hadn't performed together in two years. They'd been at it for a decade and had needed some time apart.

But one day, Anthony Valenzuela and Ernesto Cordero Jr. sat down and started talking about the band again. They started talking about recording some songs. And, yes, eventually it led to "Let's get the band back together."

By October, the band was locked up in Fast Traxx studio with Bill Sayer putting the finishing touches on "Just For You," a 12-track album of melodic modern rock, and band members were back in the routine of weekly practices.

"After playing together live for so many years, Ernie and I had an urge to put something on tape and showcase our songwriting ability," Valenzuela says. "It turned out better than we had hoped."

Lineup: Ernesto Cordero Jr (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Anthony Valenzuela (lead vocals, lead guitar), Mike Diaz (bass) and Ruben Gaitan (drums).

Style: "We have been compared to bands like Los Lonely Boys, Santana, Matchbox Twenty and even John Mayer," Valenzuela says. "Our CD has a variety of flavors ranging from pop, rock, blues and soul. We have some songs that burn with guitar, some beautiful ballads, and others that tell a story."

Sales pitch: "Our music is as pure as we could make it," Valenzuela says. "There are no samples, no weird electronic beats and no screaming. What you get is 12 original songs in a variety of styles, played with confidence, passion and heart."

Influences: "Life experiences have influenced our music more than anything else has," he says.

Trivia: "Cry," the album's final song was selected as's song of the day for Nov. 29.

It could be the soundtrack to: "Our music has a lot of themes: love, sadness, anger, reflection and redemption," Valenzuela says. "Our music would fit best in a movie about the human condition."

I love this CD! Especially CRY.
This CD is great. I can listen to it all day. But my favorite of all time is CRY. I LOVE it. It is my Favorite song of all time.

You boys sound great...especially love Cry...hmmm...the music you play tells stories from within your hearts...I felt it deep...;) you boys are on the right track, very professional..Ant,you are so damn good with your fingers...keep up the good work, boys, you, without a doubt, will go far...

This is so beautiful. . haunting and soulful
Very smooth, hauntingly beautiful. . Like everyone, I LOVE "Cry" as well as the other songs. It definitely grabs hold of you, in a gentle loving way.

This cd is great. Are you a fan of good rock n' roll music? Then you need Nigh
Nightwolf's Just For You is a great rock n' roll cd. I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it. What makes Nightwolf's cd special is that it's not just rock n'roll. But it's rock n'roll with a latin influence. The cd kicks off with two solid rock n' roll songs Just For You and Later Recognized. One of my favorite rock ballads on the cd is Lupita Mi Amor. When I hear Live Again, it takes me back to when I was a kid and there were those summer days that you thought would never end. It's that type of song, you know? It makes you feel good.

I could talk about each song, but why do that? Buy Nightwolf's cd, Just For You, and hear it for yourself. Satisfaction is guaranteed! Just For You is a solid example of what a great rock n' roll cd should be.

Fresno still rocks on!
These young bucks put los lonely boys to shame...My 15 yr old son heisted this cd as soon as he heard it. They are a bright light off the fresno city limits. I'll be expecting to hear a lot about these guys!

Diana "D"

Doug Castleman

Very good melodic and honest music.
All songs are really good, but my two favorites are the songs "Kimberly" and "Cry," which is just a great tune, masterfully played.

Just For You
This is easily the best musical investment I've made in a couple of months. This tight little foursome are a wonderful mixture of power, style and rhythm, covering the gamut from grit to tenderness, all with an almost subliminal (in places) latin flavor. These guys play extremely well together, obviously comfortable with their own and each others technical abilities. I was surprised to find, unlike many bluses artists, the whole album is original material written by members of the band. Like the best blues has always been, these songs are simple, well-crafted explorations of heartfelt emotions that engage the listener. In many, Valenzuela's guitar has just the right mournful wail to underline and compliment the sorrow of the lyrics.
I love these guys and will get more of their music.
