Trippy, swirly, wonderful.

The voice will remind you of Thom Yorke's gentler side. The guitar has the trippy essence of the Verve's Nick McCabe. It's the best of two ethereal worlds, but unlike many trippy bands, they haven't forgotten about the songwriting. These tunes will drag you in, and you'll be glad they did.

Pale Blue Day is a stunning piece of artistry. This CD ranges from dreamily ethereal to pointedly powerful, and either song type is equally captivating. While songs like "New Orleans" and "She Goes On" will likely stand out as favorites, the song that will in and of itself justify buying the CD is "Come". This track highlights the top-shelf genius of each of the four musicians in the band, but really introduces the listener to the bewitching combination of raw talent and passion of guitarist Michael Gaydos. Don't miss the hidden track--though short, it's one of the best on the album (set your CD to play track 1, and then scan backwards for approximately 2 minutes and 33 seconds). I can't imagine that anyone would lack appreciation of, if not completely fall in love with, this debut CD from the most talented band Pittsburgh--and the United States, truth be told--has seen in quite awhile.
