Album Notes

"Gon' Bounce" is taken from the SE Entertainment Records album, "A GIRL LIKE ME" by Nikkole.

“Gon’ Bounce” is the follow-up single to Nikkole’s critically acclaimed first single, “It’s Too Late” featuring The Emotions, both of which are from her HOT sophomore project, “A Girl Like Me” on SE Entertainment Records. “Gon’ Bounce” contains 6 mixes including the Radio / Album Version, the BallerzBounce Mix featuring J-Go, the Double Play Mix featuring JOJO, the DJ Cash Twisted Mix, the SupaSonicStealth Mix featuring J-Go and the A Cappella Version. On this maxi-single, Nikkole brought in some immense talent to put their signature sounds on these remix joints. On the Double Play Mix, JOJO is not only dropping eight, but she also produced the hypnotic beat on this mix. DJ Cash of Rock Solid Productions a-la (Pete Rock, Marley Marl and The Pharcyde) brought his A-game to the Twisted Mix, where he lays down his international flow from the clubs of Denmark to Tokyo. The Twisted Mix also introduces Ken Yasuda aka Mr. Japan to add to the international flair. On the BallerzBounce Mix and SupaSonicStealth Mix, rapper J-Go flexes his lyrical muscle and makes his presence known. Producer, Lloyd “Dub LT ™” Tolbert came with fire on both of these tracks that are sure to make you crave for more on the dance floor! Lloyd’s credits are impressive to say the least, he has worked with such amazing talents as Brandy, Teena Marie, Anthony Hamilton, Toni Braxton, TLC, Yolanda Adams and Lionel Richie to name a few.

Nikkole’s skills have been recognized by various talents in the form of songwriting, singing and / or arranging for some of the greats such as The Emotions, The Commodores, Babyface, Patrice Rushen, Whoopie Goldberg, Cedric The Entertainer and the late Gregory Hines. Nikkole along with her brother Wallace Hall and Lloyd Tolbert wrote the catchy “Gon’ Bounce”, and it is sure to lure you in with its banging beat and unforgettable melody.

Nikkole is a true artist whose musicality, lyrical vibe and five-octave range will definitely make you a believer!!!

During pre-testing, the song soared straight to the No. 1 Slot to make a Hot-Shot Debut at American Idol Underground. Early indications are that this cut is going to be a scorcher this summer!

The single was serviced to Internet Radio on May 25th to an overwhelming response!

The "Gon' Bounce" Maxi-Single will be available at iTunes on June 13th and goes for adds at commerical radio on July 4th! You can also, get your copy of the Radio / Album Version of "Gon' Bounce" by purchasing Nikkole's album, "A Girl Like Me" right here at CD Baby!

GON' BOUNCE is one HOT RECORD!
author: JoJo High
What a great song and a great artist! Nikkole's whole album, "A Girl Like Me" is exceptional and she has definitely taken the high road on this project and this time, we must give credit where credit is due. Nikkole has given us listeners some of the best music available today with this recording. This ain't nothing but good ol soul music, pure and simple! "Gon' Bounce" is one of the hottest songs of the year in my opinion! I love all of the remixes. If "Gon' Bounce" doesn't get you on the floor, you must be dead or you should at least have your pulse checked. Note to you Nikkole, your voice is definitely a gift from God. Before I leave, I want to say that I think if you love pop / r&b / urban or jazz and you don't have this record and Nikkole's album, "A Girl Like Me" in your collection, you are definitely missing out on something truly brilliant! Nikkole, I don't know if you actually read these, but if you do --- Jo Jo High wishes you nothing but the very best on the road to super-stardom! You deserve to be well recognized for your enormous talent! You are such a great singer, songwriter and producer. I am also so happy that your current singles, "Gon' Bounce" and "It's Too Late" featuring The Emotions (Wanda Hutchinson, Sheila Hutchinson, Pamela Hutchinson) have been getting so much attention at radio! Oh...and CONGRATULATIONS on the your story in EBONY Magazine! It was wonderful!

Hot Song Ma!
author: Janice Jacobs
I just heard this song today in Portland and let me say this...HOT BABY - HOT HOT HOT!!!!!! There are no other words to describe it. This girl is gon' have a long career in music. She is so good I had to go check out the album and the whole damn thing is overwhelming temendous. I mean this is one of the best records on CD Baby and some of the stuff here is good, but this is one of the best. I did find the Nikkole album in the store here, so I grabbed a copy. Nikkole if you are reading this honey, don't stop what you are doing 'cause you are doing it! You are certainly under-rated and I can't wait to see you explode! By the way, this girl was even in Ebony, the one that is out now with Mariah Carey on the cover. I couldn't believe it. I was just skimming through and there she was...Nikkole right there in Ebony and right after I bought her album, now tell me I don't have good taste. I know I am being boastful, but I read the article the guy wrote before me and I wanted to give myself a pat on the back for recognizing HOT talent also. LOL
