Album Notes

Singer / Songwriter / Producer Nikkole releases her third studio album, Creolepatra, and the lead-off single "E-X-OTIC" debuted on July 8, 2008 with a music video that has been certified as gold on Blastro.com. The upbeat single was produced by Nikkole and Lloyd Tolbert (Anthony Hamilton, Lionel Richie, The Emotions, Brandy, Toni Braxton, TLC, Norman Brown). The new release on SE Entertainment Records contains 17 tracks, 14 full-length songs and 3 interludes all penned by the 5-octave vocalist. Coming aboard and lending their legendary Grammy award winning voices are The Emotions on the Interlude - “Are You Swept?”. This brilliant trio worked with Nikkole on her last cd “A Girl Like Me”. In addition, celebrated guitarist David T. Walker makes an appearance on the Memphis blues inspired track “Where I Was Meant To Be”. Creolepatra is filled with an array of passion from the power ballads of “I Really Need You” and “Even On A Day Like This”, to dance floor urban / hip-hop grooves like “Are You Satisfied?”, “Wach-U-No”, “Now Or Later” and “Feel Me”. You’ll find yourself reflecting during the lyrical twists of the interludes, and contemplating life’s everyday lessons while vibing on cuts like...”Stressin’ “and “I Can’t Leave”. The journey isn’t complete until you’re taken back in the day with the 60’s slow jam throwback of “Love Was Made In Heaven”, where you will be reminded of the smooth Motown sounds of Smokey Robinson along with a hint of the R&B Diva Teena Marie.

Critics and Industry Professionals are raving about Nikkole: “Skeptics may take a look at the CD cover and dismiss Nikkole as just another pretty face, without listening to her music. That would be a mistake! For both women and men it certainly does not hurt to have the looks to go with the talent, in the entertainment industry, this lady has cracked the commercial radio market, and is in heavy demand for gigs because she is a very gifted Singer /Songwriter / Producer.” Joe Montague, Riveting Riffs Magazine “Nikkole is superb, what an amazing talent. We at NIU FM are pleased to add such a dynamic artist to our program playlist...she is destined for stardom.” Jae'd Victor, Programme Director, NIU FM - New Zealand “Nikkole has the range and the potential to be the next big hit. She has a great old school soul, sultry sound and the listeners in this area love Nikkole!” Denise Brooks, Director of Urban Programming, Clear Channel, WJKX/WZLD/WEEZ, Hattiesburg, MS

My Kinda Gumbo
author: Caroline Washington
This is my gumbo album, a little bit of this, a little bit of that all mixed together and done with love and perfection. That\'s how momma used to do it. Nikkole is giving us gumbo for our ears. Sing-girl-sing, your vocals are crazy cool and the tracks are tight and right. I love \"Are You Satisfied?\" \"Exotic\" \"Love Was Made In Heaven\" \"I Can\'t Leave\" \"Wach-U-No\" and \"Even On A Day Like This\". Really, I hate to chose, cuz all the songs are so good! I hate leaving any of them of my favorites list. Every song gets a full 5 stars.

The Ultimate Guide To Nikkole
author: SoulSistersBiz
From the moment Nikkole dropped onto the music scene in 2001, one thing was clear, the girl could write a killer hook. Nikkole roared onto radio with an album “Appearances” that would garner her both critical praise and an abundance of awards. With 2005’s follow up “A Girl Like Me,” we saw the singer amp up her game to bring her musical vision to life. All the songs acted as a showcase for her scorching, smooth vocals, and astonishing melodies. Next, Nikkole brings the release of her eagerly anticipated album “Creolepatra,” and it’s both strikingly different than her past two albums and strikingly similar. Those seeking out more of Nikkole’s ballads about heartbreak, newfound love, and euphoric romance will be pleased to know that she has delivered fourteen songs and three interludes with her signature killer hooks that seem radio friendly and original at the same time. Nikkole has been blessed with one of the best voices in the Pop/R&B world. Anyone who has heard the incredible first single, “E-X-OTIC,” will realize that she’s fully in command. What makes her music accessible is the solid stream of emotions that she writes with. Her choruses send shivers through your body, and the way she performs them is breathtaking, and she fully commits. This is most true on songs like “Are You Satisfied” which finds her singing with oodles of confidence, and “Even On A Day Like This” she exposes us to that incredible 5-Octave range. Nikkole is lyrically successful on the whole project. The absolutely stellar “Love Was Made In Heaven,” about true love in a relationship is a slow building explosion of a song that evokes a
soulful feeling of some of Nikkole’s influences. Of course on songs like “I Really Need You,” and “As If You Were Mine,” It’s all about emotion with Nikkole. The production of “Creolepatra” finds pulsing and invigorating drums pounding throughout, with memorable and catchy melodies and hooks. Nikkole is most certainly always enjoyable and a much needed artist in today’s music world!

What A Gift
author: Mollie Swartz
Nikkole has a presence, a character that is totally unique to her, and Creolepatra utterly radiates with it. She frolics with creative abandon, thankfully unafraid of stretching the boundaries lyrically and musically, a true gift has been given to us in this collection called Creolepatra.
