Album Notes

Over two years in the making, "The Power of One" captures the spirit and power of Melodic Heavy Metal. 12 tracks adorn this cd and the inspiration from other Melodic and Power Metal bands such as Stratovarius, Iron Maiden and Queensryche is evident throughout the recording.

From the opening track "Frontman", which depicts the life of a soldier in war, and the exhilarating title track, "The Power of One" which pushes the boundaries of Power Metal, to the crunching and hard driving "Our Last Days" and the subtle and ominous "Prisoner of the World", Ninth Circle delivers what can be considered the quintessential American Heavy Metal recording for the new millennium.

As part of Ninth Circle's passion and quest to deliver such a record, they enlisted the assistance of Outland guitarist, vocalist, and producer, Jeff Prentice to Produce "The Power of One". Jeff and Ninth Circle's relationship stretches over 10 years to when Jeff and Frank played in tandem in a Thin Lizzy tribute band, to Jeff filling in as a session vocalist and rhythm/lead guitarist in the early days of Ninth Circle's evolution.

In paying tribute to Jeff's contribution to Ninth Circle over the years, Jeff makes an appearance on the cd by performing a solo on the cover of an Iron Maiden classic, "The Trooper". "It was the perfect idea!. Adrian Smith and Dave Murray have such great contrasting styles that we thought it would be great to ask Jeff to perform on this track. The contrasting styles of both Jeff and Dennis pay tribute to Adrian and Dave of Iron Maiden". Frank goes on to say "We think the fans are really going to enjoy this one!"

Ninth Circle's ultimate goal is to continue writing, recording and performing great songs that long time metal and rock fans want to hear. Not only are the guys musicians in this band, but they are fans of the movement which started decades ago. Ninth Circle wants to continue creating such music, while helping to define the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.

All I can say is "WOW!!" It's amazing that a band in this day and age can put out such a great metal album. And not to mention, a 3-piece making all this noise is just incredible too! I saw them play with HammerFall in Santa Ana, Ca and I was blown away. I bought their cd the very next day! I'm sold on Ninth Circle!!

I saw these guys open up for Y&T @ Brixton South Bay in Redondo Beach, Cali and was impressed by their sound. A mix of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Queensryche. a great contrasting touch of heavy and melodic. a great cover of Iron Maiden's Trooper along with standout tracks such as "The Power of One", "Our Last Days" "How Many More Times" has this disc in current rotation in my cd player. If you can catch this band live, they're excellent live. Impressed me...
