The debut CD of sound healer Niobe Weaver "The Language of Light", is a devotional CD written of the many forms and names of God. These original songs are the expression of her spiritual awakening following a near-death experience. The inspirational lyrics speak of a universal message of love and hope that can heal, enlighten and empower with just a thought. Each song tells a story that can relate to the many phases of our lives and to the mysteries of Spirit. The soul or prayer "Language of Light" woven into the songs breaks past the analytical mind to listen to what the intuitive heart is trying to say.

There are fourteen original songs written by Niobe and her husband producer/guitarist Gil Yslas. Their unique sound creates a musical adventure and delivers a colorful canvas of sound that lifts the spirit with its sing along quality.

The opening track Loma Shi, begins the CD with a powerful World Native American tempo and feel as the song tells of a shamanic journey and the retrieval of the broken soul. Loma Loma Shi is the sounding of the drum, the life light that brings you home from the underworld. Asanta May Maria sings of a meeting with Mother Mary and her powerful sweet loving energy. Afternoon Praise is a musicians favorite. The music lends to a sensual jazz, bosa nova flavor as the language stirs the Kundalini energy, while Faey Veil takes you into the land of Fairy and the danger of being trapped for eternity.

The melodies wrap around the vocals creating a soothing, yet uplifting energy making this CD a good accompaniment to driving, working, and contemplation. Niobe has a beautiful sweet melodic voice. Her Deva Premal type velvety smoothness immediately captivates the listener with an uplifting warm original sound.

The intricate acoustic guitar arrangements and percussion are prevalant throughout the production. The CD has a texturally consistent smoothness that is reminiscent of Peter Gabriel and Robbie Robertson's production values. Upon first hearing "Language of Light" it merits repeated listening over and over again, thus creating an imaginary tapestry of captivating sounds and textures.

Niobe has produced a wonderful debut CD that takes the listener on a joyous musical journey. "Language of Light" is the beginning of many new CD's of original music to come. Niobe has proven herself to be a viable artist with a message that has much to say.
