Groomed in gospel, trained in opera, honed in pop, Nita’s voice is a remarkable instrument that’s difficult to define. But when you hear her power chops and sweet high tones, you know you are in the presence of greatness. Pulling all these elements together, Nita has found a beautiful blend of music that soothes the soul on this her latest CD LifeStories showcasing her songwriting and producing abilities as well.

A former Miss Louisiana, Nita took her southern roots, charm and show-stopping talent to Los Angeles were her incredible voice carried her to Female Grand Champion on “Star Search”, after winning an unprecedented thirteen times.
With a vibrant and dynamic stage presence that is unequaled, Nita is comfortable singing in any setting, from an intimate club to the arena stages. In 2005, she was the guest performer at The Freedom Awards honoring Oprah Winfrey, Rubie Dee and Paul Rusesabagnia. She sang duets with Andrea Bocelli during his 2006 7 city Winter Tour. Nita often travels with Multi-Grammy winner David Foster as his featured artist (and one of his favorite singers) and her performances invariably end in standing ovations. She has performed and shared the stage with countless celebrities including Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Richard Marx, Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder and Yolanda Adams. Nita’s current CD follows two other independent projects titled “Nita Whitaker” and “One Voice”.

    This CD hits me in the heart. Many of the songs feel as if Nita is seeing into how my heart is feeling and is pulling the emotions out. Way to go Nita another wonderful CD! Love you girlfriend!

    Nita Whitaker's latest CD has a plethora of melodies that are hot, exciting, new and nostalgic. I was stopped at the door by You Are My Friend which displays her champagne voice spilling over a crystal brass section with a seasoned, soulful back-up in one voice. At last, a fresh new sound that will also leave you nostalgic.

    This CD is an excellent listen. Nita has a knack for taking your emotions on a tour of her mind. Her voice is exquisite, and her songwriting is excellent. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone!

    Usually, when I buy a CD anywhere (that's why most of my music, these days, is downloaded), I can pick out only about three songs recorded of which I truly can listen to over and over again. But, honestly, I can't say there's a bad song on Life Stories that I couldn't listen to for hours. I come from the Country and Crooners genre, but Life Stories is the kind of music that allows me to escape the rat race of everyday living and escape for a while into a relaxing world far, far away (and, my wife likes the CD, too, and--with her being such a tough critic to please--that is definitely saying A LOT).
