14 tunes selected from performances recorded live at the 2008 National Jug Band Jubilee on the banks of the Ohio River in Louisville, KY, with music ranging from the traditional to the avant garde. Jug Band music had its origins in the river towns of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers in the early 1900's, with street musicians performing on unique home made instruments, including the washboard, wash tub bass, and of course, the all important Jug! The exuberance and spirit of these early bands is echoed in the bands performing at the Jubilee. Hear why jug band music is called "America's Happiest Music".
