CHICAGO, IL May 31, 2008: The highly anticipated follow up to Nicole Mitchell’s first album, The Many Moods of Me, is currently available! Released to great reviews, A Sound of My Own boasts a cacophony of tunes and has Ms. Mitchell teaming with some of the best producers, writers and musicians in the music industry.

Each song, written by Nicole and featuring several co-writers, tells a story that should resonate with audiences who love good music. Beginning with “Rise” an anthem that starts off slow and keeps you moving and grooving with an unforgivable beat that encourages you to “keep on keepin on” as well as the ever so positive “Tonite,” an up tempo tune about focusing on the positive in the present versus in the future. “Chance With You,” a smooth melodic tune that finds its singer pleading with a man who has been hurt to give love one more chance. And the infectious tune, “Just Me,” which will have music listeners tapping their feet to the funk beat!

Other songs include: “Thinkin Back”, co-written by Jere McAlister and Vic Lavender;; “Have Some Time”, “Set U Free”, co written by Sharay Reed; and, a melodic, sentimental tune, co-written by Sharay Reed, On This Day (Wedding Song) which has been chosen to be featured at several nuptials for couples in Nicole’s home state of Michigan, Illinois and Texas.

“This CD is so me,” Nicole said. “I love the ranges, my vocals and the meaning behind each and every song on this album. I enjoyed working with new producers this time around, such as Greg “G-Wiz Smith”, Sharay Reed, Darryl Jones of JonSong Music Group and of course, Keith Henderson again! They are all great producers.”

Ms. Mitchell will be celebrated the release of her new CD by hosting a cd release at the DuSable Museum in Chicago, Illinois to a packed house and will follow up with a 2nd show August 2nd in Dallas, Texas. There will be a variety of concerts and promotional dates in between and thereafter.
