A friend--poet, songwriter--hired me as a guitarist to accompany him at one of his performances; I might have sung a couple of tunes as well. After the show a woman came over and asked if I had any recordings for sale. I said "no" and continued to myself: "I guess that means I should make a record." Which I did, which is this eponymous recording, which was recorded on 1 inch tape in beautiful Montreal. Though initially released on LP a thousand years ago, I still sing some of the songs, including a version of Leonard Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel" which another poet-friend of mine assured Leonard was better than his own. You decide. I love the energy on this disc, and the bass work by Pat Donaldson who has played with John Hiatt, Albert Lee, Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, John Cale, Joan Armatrading, Jerry Douglas, etc. is stellar.
