Album Notes

Spanning 10 tracks and just over 42 minutes, It May Only Be Ignorance is a collection of existential, introspective and deceptively quiet songs.

As noted in the albums liner notes, it was "recorded in spurts, sprints and marathons between May 9th and July 14th 2007". Having not publicly performed in almost a year, and in the midst of an involved graduate program and accumilating internal unrest, Noah invested in recording equipment and began an effort to lay down the sounds in his head. It was an attempt at regaining a sense of creative efficacy, at attaining catharsis.

Carving away time and space as allowed, each song in its entirety was recorded in an single session, the duration of which ranged from two to six hours. The process allowed for a sponteniety and discovery in the production of each song (despite the best efforts to plan as much ahead as possible). Soon the recording process became a new medium of expression, an extension of the songwriting itself. At times whole songs were re-arranged, at other times whole evenings scraped. The ending result is the hushed and intricate album of songs that document things of a deeply personal nature. It cannot be over emphasized the feeling of satisfaction this project gave him. To its date, it is/was his best dance, his grand attempt, his welcoming.
