Noah King spent 6 years touring up and down the west coast, playing 150 shows a year with the eclectic party rock band JUMBO.He then moved to L.A. and hit the audition circuit, and even once auditioned for the Wallflowers. But it was at this time that he started to become increasingly disillusioned with the music business. It was then that he made a conscious decision to stop being a sideman, and just make the music that HE wanted to hear.
What followed were a string of solo albums that brought together his classic rock roots and prog rock adolescence.
Pain Of Love is his 2006 release, and has drawn comparisons to The Mars Volta, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Our Lady Peace.

The latest release from Noah King shows a musical maturity and backs it up with complex rythmns, great guitar work, and lyrics of hope and heartfelt passion for music making, living life with awareness, and that taking care of friends and family is important. It's alive with the promise that life gets better and that we need not be isolated and are part of a larger family, a bigger community...some of us just don't know it yet.
Having listened to this man's music for the better part of sixteen years now I can say this is his best work to date.
Give it a good listen, loud is good.

I'm really relieved that this album has it's own style.

When i first began listening to Pain of Love,i was surprised that i dug it as much as i did. I'm not a huge fan of this type of music(alternative) but it spoke to me in ways that i can only describe as amazing. Noah lets you escape to some heart felt emotion. Songs like Still Beautiful & Battle Lines are my favs of this record but the instrumentals(Manic Blues and the Intro) let you forget and feel just on pure emotion. I can't say enough about this record. It's a nice welcome from what's out there now & a amazing record to expand your musical taste to. Pain of Love by Noah King is well worth taking a listen to. Something real and honest.
