Noble Rott was formed in the Spring of 2002 and quickly evolved into a serious endeavor to explore and experience the depths of musical invention while maintaining core Rock’n Roll roots. The Heart and Soul of the Noble Rott Band is the genuine yearning for ultimate musical evolution, immersed in never ending creation of song, and sparked by the single Noble concept; “Play Joy, for we’re all too soon just Bags of Bones”!
The Artists:
Spencer Clark
Spencer started playing Guitar at a very early age and began composing music and playing in bands around 14. He studied music theory, classical guitar, voice and vocal harmony at St. Thomas University in Houston. As a Composer, Rhythm/Lead Guitar player and Vocalist he creates a brand of music that forges classic Rock’n Roll with a unique and progressive sound and style. Spencer’s gift is the ability as a song writer and performer to share the art of music with true musician friends who are now joined together as the Noble Rott Band.
Rick Huey
Like so many others, Rick in his formative years wanted to "start a band". Living in Rome, Italy at the time, he enlisted the talents of Steve Stogel, a good friend who knew how to play guitar, and began to play every day. The first song ever learned was "Satisfaction", and it was just that. Moving back to the States, he was introduced to Spencer who was starting a band that needed a bass player. Spencer asked if Rick would like to fill the slot. The association was to last on and off for many, many years. Today Rick is an accomplished devoted Bassist. He is the essential back bone of Noble Rott. Rick has an expert ability to fill the low end voids and sore the high end ethers with distinctive presence and solid utilization of explorative Bass technique.
Mike Huey
Mike began his musical journey with his brother Rick in Rome, Italy. Early musical influences of the Beatles, Stones, and the Beach Boys were the beginning models that would help form Michael’s Drumming essence. He has played in numerous bands over the years and developed a unique and personal free flowing drum style that is somewhat reminiscent of Michael Giles / Bill Bruford. His percussive interpretation in the movement and rhythm of song allows Noble Rott to achieve a very special sound. With Spirit of beat and confidence in the joy of playing, Mike is the keel of the Noble Rott vessel.
Jeff Stocki
Jeff "Buff" Stocki grew up in North Tonawanda New York, within earshot of the mighty roar of Niagara Falls. He started playing music so early he doesn't remember ever not playing. Buff played Bass guitar in several rock bands in New York during his teens and as he migrated South, he became the Fretless Bass player for the Volumatix. During his career, Jeff also began sitting in on Lead Guitar for various bands and rapidly became a virtuoso Lead Guitarist. More recently, Buff has taken up the study of Classical Guitar and his proficiency on that instrument can be heard on the Song Unsung album. The Buff sits in on Bass and Guitar with many groups, but he is the permanent blistering Lead, Slide and Classical Guitarist for the Noble Rott Band. Yet, if you were to ask Jeff, "what do you do?" he would humbly say, "I'm just a Bass player".
