Each song is a musical adventure
author: Margaret DeLorenzo
I was certainly the lucky one to have stumbled across this CD. When have you ever listened to an artist who is not afraid to change their style from one song to the next, and who is talented enough to do so?
It was extra exciting to find out that the music was performed by musicians I have heard before which drew me even closer to the music. Nomes' music is very refreshing. Her voice is crisp, clear, smooth and “very Nora Jonesish.” There are so many hits on this CD, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I can’t imagine it will be sitting on the shelves too long. The guitars in “The Chase” are phenomenal. Chip Larison’s solo sings with a voice of its own. When you think his guitar has reached the highest possible note, he takes it even higher! The lyrics in “Loser in Love” are easy to relate to and the tune is very catchy. The more I listen to this CD, the more I want to listen! Each song is an adventure with Nomes' talent in song writing and performing brightly showcased! It is delightful “ear candy.” I can’t wait to see these songs become the huge success they deserve to be.

This singer-songwriter ROCKS!!!
author: Robert Milone
"Palace" by Nomes is an impressive achievement. The CD is so densely packed with great songs, great performances, great arrangements and rich sonic textures, it’s hard to believe this is a debut album.
One one level, these tunes rock out with a power and freedom that is rare in “songwriter” music these days. Straight ahead rock. Wailing guitar and horn solos. Funky grooves. Extended jams. And yet on repeated listenings, new levels appear- perhaps not so straight-ahead after all. In fact, though there is a ‘concept album’ feel to Palace, each song is strange and unique- like those flowers that appeared in your garden the morning after the big meteor shower…

Vocals and Instrumentation entwined par excellence
author: Mark Tippery
Palace was such an enjoyable find. The songs paint an overall integrated masterpiece yet each obviously can stand on their own. The songwriting is delivered vocally by Nomes with an earnest and sincere sence of urgency. The biggest surprise and reason to pick this up is the strength the other musicians bring to this effort. This isn't just a singer/songwriter effort, rather a polished and collaborative gem. It is testament to Nomes confidence and desire to deliver the very best end product without having to be solely in the spotlight. Great diversity of styles and sounds.

Meticulous, intricate ... in-your-face insistence
author: René Prann
Palace is an incredible piece of work. It's no off-the-cuff, "here-I-am, I'm pretty good, huh?" souvenir. It is a meticulous, intricate array in which each node is a gem. The whole is a flashing, fluid network. Facets come and carry you away. Each musician is a bird of paradise. When one soars by, I gasp.
But...it is Nomes that grabs your body and soul and won't let it go. That in-your-face insistence in her voice. That she comes so close to you, and you can feel her emotion as fresh as the day it was born.
