Album Notes

Norm Peterson is a keyboardist/musician/singer/songwriter from the Seattle area with many years in the music business. Finally to a place in his life where he can write, compose & record the music he has always wanted to do. Drawing from many influences and styles this is a totally original CD really not sounding like anyone else. Very easy listening and very much music from the heart. The groove is the basis of the music and then everything floats on the top of that. Featured prominently are exciting \"guitar\' emulations played on the keyboard. Very bluesy & soulful and convincing. Norm also plays guitar but prefers to emulate these sounds via the keyboard. Vintage sounds of the Fender Rhodes electric piano, the Wurlitzer electric piano, Hammond organ, Clavinet, acoustic piano and synthesizer are featured prominently. All the music was recorded in Norm\'s home studio on Camano Island in Washington state. \"Island Crossing\" is the area leading to Camano island and this music is his tribute and inspirations to this beautiful part of the NW.

\"Camano Island, WA. is an idyllic paradise that has inspired resident Norm Peterson to create a cool album full of keyboards and laid-back grooves. The disc\'s cover matches the musical mood: the stoic Peterson, trusty Nord synth in hand, gazing out over the water towards distant horizons. Inside the album, the music ranges from Peterson\'s own compositions, such as the syncopated Hammond funk on \"Corgi Butts\" and the bluesy, Wurly-infused title track, to a tasty rendition of Sugarloaf\'s \"Green Eyed Lady\", that shows Peterson\'s appreciation for Jerry Corbetta\'s organ talents.
