Album Notes

"Rape You Like a Gentleman" is an extremely innovative c.d. which combines black metal, traditional metal, and punk in a way that never has been done. With top-notch production and songs which pull no punches Norselaw’s “Rape You like A Gentleman” is destined to make very big noise in the heavy metal/rock community and beyond. Although D.M.G. (Warner Bros. Affiliate) went out of business just as Norselaw’s black metal/rap masterpiece release “Sweet Home Scandinavia” came out there was nevertheless quite a quite a buzz created. Having gained fans in many countries and having many of them active in creating videos (youtube: “Viking Rap”), and spreading the word in countless forums has made Norselaw an international force to reckon with. On this latest release Norselaw has also made a name for himself through his innovative guitar playing. One minute sounding like Johnny Thunders and the next like a technical metal wizard he has offered a style never heard. Norselaw has written all the songs himself. Initially programming the drums and then having his drummer play the parts verbatim, writing the lyrics (which focus sometimes in explicit manner some of the frustrations within our society) then recording the vocals and guitars himself. This is a c.d. that is sure to shake things up in the music world.

They moved away from the viking deal but it's still fucking awesome. I don't understand how an independent group like this can get such good production values on a CD. I've recorded before and spent an ass of money doing it, but all the stuff I do sounds like shit coming out of an old woman's ass. Anyway, enough of my envy. This album is brilliant. The lyrics are some of the most wicked shit I've ever heard (Cyborg Lover is my favorite song). You can go to their website and read them for yourself. Insanity. The music like metal/punk or some sort of hybrid with a little classical gitaur thrown in there. Don't let my description fool you though, it works. It's a refreshing break from the same old shit from bands like Three Days Grace whining about how their dads didn't buy them a Sega Genesis that one year for Christmas. Nay, these songs are masculine and powerful. There's a good variety to the sound; each song is a unique beast. Just buy the fucking thing. It's only 10 bucks. That's like what? Go put in 1.5 hrs at a Mcadee's and come back and DOWNLOAD THIS SHIT.

Valhalla Ice is the "Rambo" of the metal world... destroying his enemies with only his guitar and his words. Putting his outspoken lyrics aside, the production is impressive. It starts with a southern style hard rock sound, moves into some heavy thrash sound that shows the influences from Metallica to King Diamond, and also has a few classic punk songs. There is something for everyone on this record. The style changes and evolves on the album, and Valhalla's vocal style morphs to fit the song and he is able to use the vocal style to fit the song. Overall, this is a great album and I think it is probably the best Norselaw album to date.

New Style with Great Production and Antisocial lyrics

I've been following Norselaw for awhile now and this is not only his best effort it's one of the best c.d.'s I own. Norselaw proves himself in every capacity on this c.d. be it vocalist, guitarist, producer, or songwriter. Every song is killer. I love the King Diamond-esque falsetto he pulls off on "I Think I'm Dying" and the fusion of old style punk and black metal sounds totally organic and never forced. If you're looking for someone who has something to say (i.e. Bi-sexual Pig!! Lyrics Rule!) and a unique way to say it then look no further. These songs are catchy and extremely well written. While not only producing this in an elite manner he has sacrificed nothing on the creative end. All hail NORSELAW!!!!
