Album Notes

North is a musical project currently centered in Ann Arbor, Michigan that has been producing original music since 1994.

The Revolutions EP is North's debut CD, and centers on their earlier, acoustic rock trio sound. A straight-up, raw, almost live instrumentation beneath a few intricate layers of hand percussion and secondary guitars highlights the dominating rhythmic element behind much of the album; a few more gentle and heartfelt pieces showcase the folk and songwriter roots of the band.

North mainly performs acoustic rock music featuring strong acoustic and electric rhythms, intelligent and diverse percussion, melodic flute lines and playful vocal harmonies; but has also touched upon a cappella, new age and classical styles, including film-scoring efforts. North aspires to create moving music across varying genres, but centers on evocative rock and progressive folk with an emphasis on thoughtful composition and introspective lyrics.

I don't remember how I originally found this CD, but after listening to the MP3s available on the website I just had to buy this. It's still on rotation in my collection seven years later. What God Wants is truely great.
