Northern Quarter were formed in Loughborough, UK in 2001 and play mainly acoustic based material taken from their first CD 'One of these Songs is about You' and their second CD 'Busy Missing Everything' which will be available in September 2007.
Here's what other people say about them...
"This band are really making a name for themselves. Superb vocals, brilliant arrangements. One of the smoothest original acoustic bands I have ever come across"
Running Horse Music Pub, Nottingham - April 2007
‘One of these Songs is about You’… “A collection of softly spoken acoustic numbers and more upbeat pieces with tracks like 'Giving Up' and 'Time on my Mind' standing out. Its like that CD you get 4 tracks into at a mates house before heading down the road to get your own copy. “
Loughborough Echo June 2005
"One of our favourate bands. Sweet harmonies, clever songwriting. A very very talented band. "
Running Horse Music Pub, Nottingham
"Northern Quarter are a band who have quickly established themselves at the top of the tree as far as local acoustic music is concerned… Driven by their lynchpin guitarist singer and songwriter Gerry Farrow aided by fellow singer and songwriter Vicky Warburton, the 5 piece have become a popular draw at the town’s acoustic venues…
As ever the set was a mix of covers and their own material, which included some new songs of which ‘Lost’ was a notable highlight.
Vicky and Gerry are a great pair like a seasoned premiership strike partnership, while behind them the band don’t put a foot wrong. It makes for a good night."
