The soul of Northern Xposure sparked into life when two people whilst practicing guitar in their back yard on Thursday Island (Torres Strait - Australia) decided to pick up their instruments and head for the local hospital to brighten the day of a few patients feeling down. The two locals were Tamily Shibasaki and Brian Williams.

The good feeling experienced from up-lifting the spirit of others, inspired greater enthusiasm for performing to palliative care patients, and many times over from then on they would drop everything to get to the hospital to play for those in need of cheering up.

Thus began the dedication this Musical Group has today towards supporting thier local community, by performing for the likes of many community orientated events, such as Australia\'s Biggest Morning Tea, Wongai Ball, Carols by Candle Light, just to name a few, and not forgetting a very special occasion of the sistership reception held during the visit of delegates of Kushimoto City, Japan.

Northern Xposure write and compose thier own original music, and it is their intention to bring awareness and preservation to Torres Strait Island Culture, history and stories, through the performance and recording of thier artform.
