notes
I'm a jazz/blues guitarist,singer,songwriter & artist.
My In The Zone album has a little of everything like In The Zone ,From La to London,Burnt Offeringsand Montuno are up temple smooth and funky cuts.
Between The Spaces and Sometimes are very smooth and layed back I may remind you of Wes Montgomery or George on the octives.
Sanctified & The Groove are more shuffle & dance.
My album was put together and concieved in London.
In 1993 on one of my trips to london my friends and fellow musicians said that the next time I came to london they wanted to do an album with me.
In 94 I started writing songs because I was to be there for six weeks so I was under a little pressure to write enough songs and finish my part of the recording before returning back to La, It came out in june of 95 and was played extensively on londons jazz-FM radio.
We also debuted the album at londons famous Jazz Cafe.
I had worked and toured all of England and British Isles with these musicians backing Clem Curtis & The Foundations.
Best friend and drummer Graham Cuttill on drums & backing vocals, Nixon Rosembert on bass, Paul Higgs on trumpet & keyboards, Neil Pyzer on sax, flute and programming, Roberto Pla and Tammy Payne percussions, Dave Stevens-keyboards and programming, Boysey Buttram alto sax on Sanctified.
The only song that was covered isThe Groove which was written by Rodney Franklin.
I've toured and recorded with other groups from London like Reggae Group, Chosen Few, The Funkmasters who had a hit It's Over which went to #5 on British charts in '84. We appeared on Top of The Pops.
I recorded and toured with The Atlantic Soul Machine throughout England, Finland, Belgium and Holland.
I hope that you enjoy my music and my website sincerely & musically.

Yeah..this is a good album!!
author: mary ann laingWhat a find for me to get Emmett North Jr's album. His stuff is Great!! Really, really great! I love the masterful blend of Funk, R&B and Jazz feel each song has. His guitar work is beautiful. And the band is truly amazing. This is the kind of music I like to keep playing when I'm in the mood to groove and get things done. I just can't stop moving!! I have to get some more of Mr. North's work! I love it!
Do not miss out on getting this WONDERFUL album!
author: Pär DahlerusEmmett North Jr is a top talented musiscian and songwriter as well as a great singer! Not much singing on this great CD, but listen to some of his other albums for more of that! It is a mystery to me that Emmett North Jr has not hit it real big yet! This album is so great, it gets better for every time you listen to it! The guitarplaying is sensational! George Benson could not do it any better! Listen to the song "Sanctified" and you will know a little more about Emmett North Jr...this Great Man that has been one of BARRY WHITE'S guitarists as well as worked with ISAAC HAYES among others!!! Buy the CD now you will not get disappointed!
