ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Thank you for visiting our page, and listening to our CD Wildwood Trail.

NorthPoint is playing original Oregon roots rock and roll this Sunday Sept 19 2010 noon-4pm in downtown Portland at SW 1st and Ankeny next to the Burnside Bridge. on the West side of the River (across the street from Berbati's Pan). Hope to see you Sunday, in the Oregon "sunshine"! http://cdbaby.com/cd/NorthPoint

A little more info about the band:
NorthPoint was formed in Spring of 2004, in Portland, Oregon. Ken Lowther (guitar, vocals) and Alan Crouch (bass, vocals) began writing original material, and Charlie Swift joined on drums and Phil Klahn on guitar to complete the line-up. Phil also mastered our CD Wildwood Trail, as well as Bridge Creek's CD. NorthPoint plays “roots” rock in the vein of the Rolling Stones, Train, The Doors, Tom Petty, U2, Pearl Jam, and Three Doors Down. The band has also been compared to "The Blasters" in terms of their rootsy, americana sound.

The band began playing regularly around the Portland area, and released their first CD in 2005. Their second CD, Wildwood Trail, was released in February 2006, and is available worldwide on http://www.cdbaby.com. We have built a strong following with big turnouts for their live shows in Oregon, especially at Saturday Market (thanks, Mona and team!) and the Dublin Pub which has become a home base for the band (thanks to Katie Bullard and crew for all their support! and RIP, Karl...)

NorthPoint have fans across the internet including China, Europe, and Central America. NorthPoint is active on http://www.icompositions.com and have collaborated with many artists around the world. Their CDs include the following tracks which NorthPoint have been performing in their shows in ’04-08: Faith Healer, Iron Workin’ Man, Still Waters, Rain Falls Down, Poison, Don’t Wait Till Tomorrow, Fire and Gasoline, Desolation Angels, Better Off Friends, Get You There, Better With Another Day, Muddy Water, I’m Gonna Ride, Roundabout, Nowhere to Go. The songs, all written by Alan Crouch and Ken Lowther, focus on simple bluesy roots rhythms and lyrical content spanning Americana, Freedom, Pain and Redemption, Joy, helping the down and out, and fighting for what you believe in. Wildwood Trail has received radio airplay all over the Internet and on US stations on the West Coast, especially in Oregon and California.

Latest information, lyrics, tracks from CDs, upcoming performance dates, merchandise, and booking information are available at the North Point website:

Their live shows are a blast, and are regularly featured in local Oregon publications like Willamette Week, the Oregonian Arts and Entertainment Guide. Come see NorthPoint soon, and check out their new release "Wildwood Trail" on cdbaby.com. Thanks for your support of Original Oregon Rock and Roll!
