Album Notes

Jamie Notarthomas plays as much piano as acoustic guitar on this his fourth CD. Performed with a band he put together and toured with for years before capturing a unique sound that blends the best of his signature styles. With the instruments of an orchestra sprinkled on top of this rocking band and special guests like grammy award winning celist \"Hank Roberts\" and the celtic sounds of Ithaca NY based band \"Traonach\" and this cd is a feast for the ears. The songs range from moving balad to Funk Rythum and Blues then New Orleans style then a Lenard Cohen like song Some are Jamie\'s style alone. The songs on this cd are getting more attention with live audiences than the previous CDs.

As much as you make fun of the Deet Deet Deet song as you're singing it, I found it rather remarkable that you were able to incorporate all of those routine 'noises' into a song. I found myself singing it all the time, especially if I happened to hear a triggering sound that appeared on it. It made me appreciate (and hate) some of the noises I live with every day. Thank you. I really enjoy listening to the Crow Convention song. With your wonderful lyrics, you bring the crows to life and I can picture them flying overhead. Awesome CD.

...is one of the greatest American singer songwriters out there today. Listen to his last album, Climbing Out of the 20th Century and then listen to this one (and please listen to Heads or Tales and his first album also). Songs composed in the American music traditions, soulful mixtures of folk and blues. Lyrics that bring to mind not only the transcendental aspects of writers like Whitman, Emerson, Thoreau, but the cultural and political criticisms of Dylan. Pretty high praise, you might say. Why is he not famous, you might ask. Listen to song #10 on this album.
