Album Notes

The follow-up to the much-heralded "Lemon Fresh", Starbelly's sophomore album is back with many of the classic elements that made their debut such tongue-wagger but the familiar mixes with an assertive and ambitious drive to irresistible new territories. Aided by the production of Andy Bopp(Myracle Brah), Starbelly will charm the socks off pop fans with their literate approximations of tightly crafted pop songs influenced by The Beatles('67-70 era), Big Star and Matthew Sweet.

Certainly fans of Myracle Brah will warmly lift up this albums' fluid vocals, gushingly catchy choruses and, one of the bands biggest assets, effortless vocal harmonies. The confidence and savvy on "Everyday And Then Some" forges an effort that will not disappoint old fans and win new ones over inside this breezy and splendid gathering of wonderful songs. "All three members sing, drenched in harmonies that are a trademark of the band....an release that swims in the warmth of melodies, harmonies and darn catchy rhythms"-NorthernLight. A release of unbridled ecstasy for fans of great pop music that is both ambitious and rocks.

Hands down the best POWER-MELODY-POP group and CD release in years
author: oldie_al
In the somewhat snooty small Power Pop- Rock culture the names Big Star, Jellyfish, the Grays or the Posies get mentioned a lot. It's a shame the way this music is batted around as closely resembling a bunch of the new Independent and small label bands showing up everywhere, especially college radio. This CD is a very rare example of music that does stand up to the test of being mentioned in the same review with the afore mentioned Rock'in Popsters. The lead singer has one of the great voices, and the multi-harmonys shine along with the ringing and singing of the jangling and whining guitars. The amazing tight drumming holds each song together, and makes the whole CD a great listening experience. I'll throw away all my Beatle and ELO albums, if you don't get this CD stuck in your head after the first four songs !
